What will you find at CC Central?
While CC Central maintains a big presence on the World Wide Web, we're actually quite a small presence in reality. Most of you know the CC co-founders, Vicki Robin and Susan Partnow.
Vicki coordinates the overall Conversation Café Initiative, responsible for oversight, planning, policies, legal and financial issues. Susan usually facilitates the trainings for new hosts and those more experienced hosts feeling they need a refresher to make sure their CCs are staying true to the CC method.
Susan and Vicki also facilitate the Host Learning Circle Conference Calls from time to time, along with some of our hosts who have found an innovative twist or other perspective that is beneficial to the CC host community. They also write for the newsletter and network with the larger world of Dialogue and Deliberation.
The fires are kept burning at CC Central by Lorie Wood, the CC Administrator. She actually handles most of the logistical tasks of CC Central. She maintains the website, communicates with hosts, potential hosts and inquiring minds in general. She also coordinates the trainings and provides host support whenever needed. She also orchestrates the mentor program so that fledgling hosts can have someone who's been there give them the moral support to either take the plunge or keep on going.
Once a year Vicki, Susan and Lorie - along with other partners - organize Conversation Week so our hosts around the world can all be in the same conversation.
We've tried to create the Café process in a way that allows people to take the materials and run with it ... and to include everything you might need to get started on our website, but every once in a while, you might just need some human contact and the folks at CC Central are here and happy to help.
