Volunteer opportunities

Conversation Cafés are a citizen outreach program, dependent on volunteers for success. We would love your help and talents! Unless otherwise noted, please contact [email protected] if you're interested in any of the following.

Host Contact Person Needed!

The Conversation Café initiative is succeeding to our heart’s delight … and beyond our administrative capacities! If you live in the Seattle area and would enjoy helping out behind-the-scenes one day a week, we could use your assistance:

• keeping on-line calendars and downloadable schedules up-to-date;
• welcoming new folks – via email – and guiding them through our resources;
• updating fliers for special events; and
• other projects as they arise (or you invent them!).

If you have some enthusiasm and energy to spare, and can do some office tasks from home, email us at [email protected].

OUTREACH

Attendance at Cafés is directly proportional to outreach. We need people to Distribute Flyers at:

  • places you frequent
  • your workplace
  • bulletin boards in your neighborhood
  • meetings you go to
  • events you attend

Every new person who attends a café, if they have had an enjoyable experience, should leave with some flyers to post and give to friends. Hosts will always have flyers with them.

Distribute information to your email lists. THIS IS THE MOST ECOLOGICAL, POWERFUL AND COST-EFFECTIVE WAY TO GET THE WORD OUT. Once people start getting multiple copies of our message, we'll know we're beginning to saturate the larger community.

We need people to Make Announcements at:

  • church
  • meetings
  • other social gatherings

Start a Conversation Café yourself!

Read the host manual to see if this is your kind of fun. Find a café. Find a cohost. Email [email protected] to let us know place, day of the week, and time of the day so we can post it on our site. Be sure to inform us if you decide anytime in the future to STOP hosting at this site. Enjoy!
