About the Conversation Cafe Yahoo! Group

Joining the Conversation Cafe "Yahoo! Groups" email list
The best way to keep in touch about what's going on with Conversation Cafes as a grass roots movement is to join this Conversation Cafe Yahoo! Group by clicking http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ConversationCafes/.. You control your own membership and can change your options or leave the group without any involvement from moderators. If you do not already have a Yahoo Groups account, you will need to create one when you click on the link. If you have an account already, clicking the link will put you into your Yahoo Groups account, ask for your password, and then prompt you to join.

Local Lists
There may be a list set up to announce local events and opportunities in your area. The Puget Sound area in Washington state has one, for instance. Check the schedule pages to see if one has been set up for your state or area, or if you would like to set one up and be the moderator, we would be happy to help you do so. Email us for help in setting up a local list using Yahoo Groups.

About the Messages
The moderators of the group post announcements about host trainings, hosting opportunities, special Conversation Cafe events, or related discussion/dialog events.

Any member of this group may also choose to post messages to the group. For instance, someone in Los Angeles might want to start a Conversation Cafe and would like to know if anyone else nearby would want to participate. Other types of messages, such as your experience at a Cafe or ideas for topics to discuss are also welcome. PLEASE DO NOT use this essential communications tool for advertising your own non-Conversation Cafe events or issues. If in doubt about the legitimacy of your posting, please ask first by e-mailing [email protected].

Options for Receiving Messages
If you do NOT EVER want to receive messages from other members, you can edit your Yahoo! Groups membership profile to receive only postings from the moderators. In your Yahoo Groups account, click the link "Edit My Membership" (the link shown at right is just an illustration).

You should see a section of options. Choose "Special notices" as illustrated below.

If you do not want to receive messages in your e-mail inbox but would like to check up on news from time to time, choose the last option "No email."

Be sure to click the "Save Changes" button before leaving this window.

Unsubscribing
If you change your mind about belonging to the Conversation Cafe discussion group, you can click the"Leave Group" link, just under the "Edit My Membership" link (see above).
